Esther Community Resources started in 2004 as a charitable organisation, solely focused on food distribution and the alleviation of food poverty. The organisation’s founder Janet Maye who’s background was in social work, saw the need of the service users and the lack of access to food, so she began contacting retailers to ask to distribute their excess or surplus food to those in need.
For the next 8 years Esther Community Resources which began operation in Birmingham, branched out to having distribution centres in Walsall and across the West Midlands.
